When I'm inspired I make it about once every 2 years or so. Always a treat and it lasts all week. It was originally an everything but the kitchen sink Irish dish but has evolved into something much more selective. Especially with the price of ground sirloin.

Did you really combine ground beef, mashed potatoes and corn in pan? You should have your own TV show!!!

Did you make Cottage Pie or Shepherd's Pie?

Cottage is made with beef whereas Shepherd's is with lamb.

With onions peppers, carrots, mushrooms. Slather 5 lbs of mashed potatoes over the top, sprinkle with butter and bake until browned. Mmmmm...potato

It's cooling right now, I'll take a pic before I freeze it and portion slice it. (i freeze it for about 40 minutes, then slice it into portions)

They have that at Morrison's Cafeteria occasionally... It looks suspiciously like a collage of all the leftovers from the day before with a pot-pie crust on it.

In elementary school they used to have that as the hot lunch about once a week, if not more often than that. Rancho beans was another one. Basically beans and hamburger.
